Sustainability

For us at Finn, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and how we grow—it’s a journey that will never end.

We have chosen to take a very hands-on and practical approach to sustainability. Because that is the only way to turn wise words and ideas into tangible, meaningful change. Naturally, creating an equitable and fair workplace is also an integral part of our sustainability efforts.

This applies to our choice of interior design, the suppliers and partners we work with, the products and packages we sell, how we make the most of the destination without overusing it, how we can help Lund thrive year-round, and so on.

We also want to help current and future visitors to Lund and Finn become better guests. 

Some of our operational initiatives to promote greater sustainability include

NATURE
What we do:
– We always strive to use and make the most of local or regional resources.
– We require our partners and suppliers to always work and act sustainably.
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Use sustainable modes of transportation when you’re in Lund.
– Sort your waste in our recycling room
– Stay informed about the Right of Public Access and follow its guidelines

INTERIOR DESIGN
– Interior design features items from local or regional suppliers
– We always strive to use local artisans whenever possible
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Purchase local handicrafts from the destination
– Be bold and choose quality and locally produced items when shopping during your visit to Skåne

ENERGY
What we do:
– We purchase eco-labeled electricity
– All lighting uses energy-efficient bulbs
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Turn off the lights when you leave your room
– Keep the window closed when the heater is on

WATER
What we do:
– Equipment to minimize water consumption
– Water-saving toilets
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Take showers no longer than 5 minutes per guest
– Fill your water bottle with tap water from us before your visit to Skåne

WASTE
What we do:
– We sort waste at the source as much as possible within our own operations
– We strive to become plastic-free
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Sort waste in your room
– Sort waste in our common areas and outdoor waste rooms
– Reuse instead of buying new

INGREDIENTS
What we do:
– All our ingredients are traceable
– Any unused ingredients are recycled back into our operations whenever possible
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Choose restaurants that offer local and organic ingredients when you’re out exploring Skåne

TRANSPORTATION
What we do:
– We always encourage our guests and staff to travel sustainably and use public transportation whenever possible
– We always strive to offset the carbon footprint of our guests’ unsustainable travel
– Whenever possible, we use public transportation ourselves
What you, as a guest, can do:
– Always choose public transportation first
– Carpool if you must use a car
